It's July 2009
And for Harry Potter fans this is our time
Because the sixth movie is finally here
And the paperback Deathly Hallows after two long years
You'd expect there to be some indication in stores
Or the movie theaters to try to dress up a little more
But no, I haven't seen even a Potter display case
Or a poster in a theater window, why all this disgrace?
Do they think that Twilight's the new big thing?
Well we're still around and Potter is our king
We dressed up for the midnight premier
Why don't they have the decency to match our revere?
They underestimate us all the time
But we are the ones who are still standing in line
To enter this world that we'll always pursue
Cause we're still alive, and Harry lives on, too.
Twilight's fine, but it probably won't last
And you might think the Boy Who Lived is part of the past
Well then, our post-Potter depression might come as a shock
And it's becoming clear Twilighters can't rock like we wrock
We've grown up with him and learned from his life
And we'll keep the spirit of the story alive
We don't want to fight with an unrelated franchise
But that we are gone is very dangerous to surmise.
Did you think that Harry would ever die?
Well love is our story and evil can hide!
Ignoring our fandom is something Fudge would do
And I really wouldn't want to be like him, now, would you?
You underestimate us, think you're above
But we will continue to live out our lives in love
And watch as all the things that Jo taught us survive
Cause we are the fandom and Harry's still alive
So stand by and watch as our fandom persists
But you are the Ministry and we will resist.

There's some cool artists like Tianna and the Cliffhangers, Siriusly Hazza P & The Non-Binaries that I didn't know existed. If your into wizard rock, queer artists or just quirky music, this is a comp worth checking out. TimTTT

This album is mainly a selection of songs from two early wizard rock compilations (one summer-themed, one holiday-themed), and although it's a little long and somewhat unfocused, I do love that these songs are available again, because there are some real gems. yourwizardrockresource
